Dr Israel Molina is the Director of the International Health Programme at the Catalan Institute of Health (PROSICS) and Head of the Tropical Medicine and International Health Unit at the University Hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, Spain. Israel has a PhD in Medicine from the Universidad de Barcelona and is a specialist in Infectious Diseases. Israel has researched Tropical diseases in the field in Equatorial Guinea, Angola and Brasil. Israel is a Professor of the Tropical Medicine Masters at the University of Barcelona and coordinator of the Infectious Disease Module of the Tropical Medicine and International Health Diploma of the UAB.

In the last few years, Israel has focused on trying to find treatment options for Chagas disease.
