Until December 2018, Narcis Kabatereine, currently an independent Researcher, worked for seven years with Schistosomiasis Control Initiative (SCI). Before, he headed the Vector Control Division in Uganda, and was their Schistosomiasis Control Programme Manager.

He has a PhD, 35 years experience in NTD Control and has published extensively. As a temporary World Health Organization Consultant, he built field-based NTD Control skills in many countries, participated in compilation of several WHO NTD manuals, is a member of several WHO Working Groups and is a member of the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium and the Global Schistosomiasis Alliance.
