  • Imagen eliminada.·         A new publication in the Lancet shows evidence of a second focus of artemisinin resistance on the Thai-Burma border.
  • ·          A reference document for methods for conducting antimalarial pharmacology assays has recently been published by WHO, as a result of an informal organised by WHO with technical support from WWARN.
  • ·         The threat of poor quality antimalarial medicines is highlighted in a recent publication documenting falsified antimalarials in several African countries. WWARN aims to collate and curate data that can help define the scale of the problem.
  • ·         WWARN mourns the loss of Niklas Lindegardh, a brilliant scientist and a great colleague. Niklas was the Head of the Clinical Pharmacology Group at Mahidol Oxford Research Unit and the Director of the WWARN quality assurance programme.
