Join us at 6th MIM Pan-African Malaria Conference in Durban, South Africa
We’re looking forward to the 6th MIM Pan-African Malaria Conference in Durban, South Africa next week. Our colleagues are finalising their symposia, including ‘Malaria eradication in an age of artemisinin resistance: an African perspective’(Tuesday 8th October at 3pm). We’ll also share the results from the multi-disciplinary Study Groups that have worked together to answer important questions on antimalarial resistance. These latest results have used the WWARN Data Centre comprisedof approximately 90,000 patient records contributed by more than 230 network partners.

Visit WWARN’s exhibit stand 48 to discover our most recent study group activities and outputs. This will include our analyses of clinical determinants for early parasitological response to artemisnin-combination therapies (ACTs) in patients in Africa and Asia. We’ll also share the results from our pooled analyses of ACTs, and a summary of the treatment risk factors that can provide us with an early-warning sign of emerging resistance. We expect full results to be published in the coming months.
During MIM you can access our WWARN Toolkit, test our online tools the Parasite Clearance Estimator and the In Vitro Analysis and Reporting Tool (IVART), and review references standards, protocols and procedures that will support your research or surveillance efforts.
