Georges Nguefack-Tsague holds a Masters and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Namur (Belgium) and the University of Goettingen (Germany; Center for Statistics; and Institute of Statistics and Econometrics), respectively. He currently lectures in  Statistics at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Yaoundé 1. He was previously lecturer at the Department of Statistics of the University Carlos III of Madrid (Spain) and started his professional career with the Cameroon National Institute of Statistics.

Georges has specialised knowledge in data analysis; monitoring and evaluation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG); key populations; programmatic mapping and size estimation of populations most at risk of HIV; HIV modelling; Health Information System;  and health research. He was member of the WHO Data Management Team during Ebola Outbreak in West Africa in 2014. 

He is leading the Working Group “Data Mining and Big Data Analytics” and the Work Set “Secondary Data Analysis” of the Pan African Health Informatics Association (HELINA).

Georges has more than 20 years’ experience in international consultancy works with UN System, international organisations and others partners: The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, UNDP, UNICEF, WHO, World Bank, Expertise France, USAID, and KfW. He is author of more than 50 publications in peer reviewed journal, and a book. He is also Knight of the Order of Cameroonian Merit.
