Jonathan Juliano is an Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He also holds an appointment in the Curriculum of Genetics and Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine and an adjunct appointment in the Department of Epidemiology at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at University of North Carolina. His major interests lie in the molecular epidemiology and genomics of malaria parasites, with a particular interest on the evolution of drug resistance and vaccine antigen diversity. He has run clinical studies in Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and The Democratic Republic of the Congo, but collaborates with investigators from around the globe (ideelresearch.org).
