Systematic Review Datasets
For the each of the two groups of diseases within the remit of this platform, schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiases (STHs), systematic reviews are conducted to explore the scope of the platform, estimate the volume of relevant data, and quantify heterogeneities in the studies generating the data.
These systematic reviews summarise the characteristics of prospective treatment studies including study types, participant numbers, demographic groups included, study designs, interventions tested, and outcomes. Through exploring these characteristics, researchers can develop an understanding of the quality and heterogeneity of the available data. In addition, these existing data can be a source of information to address research priorities and knowledge gaps. The initial systematic reviews were published in 2016 and 2017 and are now being regularly updated.
