Pre- and post-admission team meetings
It is important that staff are completely up to date with information about a protocol and understand where their own role fits in with the rest of the team to ensure success of a trial. This is particularly important for complex trials (e.g. where multiple participants are admitted to a ward as a group, trials with intensive assessment schedules, trials that are adapted as data are generated and/or where close supervision of participants to ensure their safety is required, such as early phase trials). This procedure therefore describes the rationale and conduct of pre- and/or post-admission team meetings which help ensure the team works together correctly and efficiently, and learns from their experiences of admissions as the trial proceeds.
