The rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are the most important considerations in a clinical trial, and the investigator/intuition should ensure that adequate medical care is provided for any adverse events. This procedure therefore describes the process for safely evacuating a patient due to a medical emergency from the clinical trial facility, and is particularly important for sites conducting early-phase trials when advance planning is critical. See procedure SAF05 for a similar process more suited to field sites.
