The MiP Library was launched in 2005 as an output of the former Malaria in Pregnancy Consortium, led by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). WWARN and LSTM have been working together since 2016 when they joined forces to form WWARN's Malaria in Pregnancy Scientific Group – a collaboration working towards a better understanding of the impact of malaria resistance on the effectiveness of current prevention strategies, and helping to ensure that all pregnant women with malaria receive safe and effective treatment.

The Library is updated every four months and provides a unique online resource for users to search unpublished and published literature relating to malaria in pregnancy. Users can filter their search using several parameters, search in certain fields and search for multiple terms at once.

Annemieke van Eijk, Clinical Epidemiologist at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine who manages and updates the Library says: "This easy-accessible resource dedicated to malaria in pregnancy currently has close to 9400 entries. It provides a straight-forward search function and results from several searches can be combined and easily downloaded. We strongly encourage every student and researcher working on malaria in pregnancy to explore this resource."
