Medicine Quality Scientific Literature Surveyor user guide
Navigating the Scientific Literature Surveyor
This tool can be used to visualise published scientific reports of substandard and falsified (SF) antimalarials, antidiabetics and medical devices for diabetes management, antiretrovirals, antibiotics, anti-tuberculosis, veterinary medicines, cardiovascular medicines and medical devices and vaccines.
Drop down boxes in the left column allow the user to filter data by:
- medicine category
- active pharmaceutical ingredient name
- report type
- collection method
- quality classification e.g. falsified, substandard
- medicine source e.g. hospital pharmacy, private clinic (see methodology for definitions).
- country
A slider under the map selects articles published in a defined year range.
Choose one of two ways to view filtered data:
1 Medicine Quality map
Pins mark each country or location with accessible medical product quality data represented on this system. Please read the Disclaimer and Caveat section or important information. Medical products include medicines, vaccines, diagnostic tests and devices.
Click a pin to see the type of publication, summary results, collection location and survey type, medicine source, publication title and link to the article. Pin colour represents the maximum medicine failure rate reported in the survey.
Click on the article title to view the associated publication, if open access.
2 Report Table
A list of all the published reports providing data or information related to medicine quality in the country where the selected pin is located. Click to sort by first author, year of publication, title, name of publication or country in which the study took place.
Please note: There are issues to download the country reports in Safari for Mac that will soon be fixed - our sincere apologies for any inconvenience.
