Marianne Munene is the Research Governance Manager at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KWTRP). She serves as a key resource on research planning & conduct, research & data governance, research regulation & compliance, and facilitates the development, implementation, and continual improvement of research and quality management systems. She was instrumental in the establishment of KWTRP’s data sharing guidelines, data governance committee and the data curation system which currently includes 235 datasets shared with over 200 institutions, view here.

Marianne is a graduate of the University of Liverpool, BSc (Hons) Pharmacology and the University of London, MSc Clinical Trials. Her experience and expertise includes clinical trials, ethics and regulatory processes, policy development, operational efficiency in research, research and data governance (including data protection), and training and facilitation within these themes. She sits on KWTRP committees focusing on research review (science and ethics), and data governance (data sharing, data curation, data systems and tools).
